New capabilities. New partners. Strong customer stories. In 2013, we introduced our GRID vGPU technology at Synergy, Citrix’s global IT conference for virtualization, mobility, networking and cloud solutions.

Less than a year later, we’re back and we’re bringing a whole ecosystem with us. A quick rundown of all the GRID vGPU news you’ll hear at this year’s conference:

  • NVIDIA and Citrix have seen increasing customer adoption over the past year across North America, Europe and Japan in the manufacturing, global engineering and energy markets. This year, Citrix is continuing theinvestment and commitment to Citrix XenServer with an upcoming technology preview supporting 64-bit architecture, and delivering enhanced user density for NVIDIA GRID vGPU-enabled workloads.
  • HP is launching its new DL380z virtual workstation. It’s equipping the DL380z with dual NVIDIA GRID K2 graphics cards and NVIDIA GRID GPU virtualization technology. The result: secure, high performance delivery of graphics-intensive 3D apps with XenDesktop and HDX 3D Pro.
  • Also new this year: a GPU-accelerated Citrix Receiver software client for all-in-ones, notebooks and tablets powered by NVIDIA Tegra processors. We’ve improved end-to-end performance by taking advantage of the on-chip decode processors in Tegra devices. This unleashes a low-power, low-latency, high-performance user experience.
  • We’re also announcing that NVIDIA will support Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2An with a vGPU update and new virtual GPU profiles. The NVIDIA GRID K120Q now supports up to 32 users per graphics board. Our NVIDIA GRID K220Q, meanwhile, now supports up to 16 users per graphics board with a 512MB frame buffer option that’s ideal for Adobe Photoshop users.

Graphics is a hot topic at Synergy with more sessions on the topic than ever before, including a talk from SpaceX on how Citrix XenDesktop and NVIDIA GRID are helping colonize other planets.

Stop by our booth — #301 – for one of the most striking demonstrations of this momentum. Our “power wall” will showcase demos of GRID graphics performance with XenApp and XenDesktop with GRID vGPU. Look for demos from Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit, ESRI, Siemens, Google and more.
